Mickey Mouse Latte Please

I have always been slightly curious as to who and where the big decisions and ideas get formed. I have always wondered how easy or difficult it may be to get involved with the Walt Disney Company.

Starting in June, the first in-park Starbucks will open in Disney’s California Adventure.

Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom will follow at an unspecified time.

Starbucks states that many of their customers have requested for locations within Disney theme parks through MyStarbucksIdeas.com for quite some time now.

How will they look? Disney has stated each Starbucks location will have a unique theme to blend into its surroundings. At the California Adventure location, it will be located in an eatery called the “Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical Cafe.” The store will be built with Spanish/Mexican architecture and the “baristas” brewing your coffee or latte will be wearing period costumes.

This is not the first time that these two companies have worked together. While new to the domestic parks, in June of 2009, Starbucks opened a store in Disneyland Paris’ Disney Village.

Only time will tell if this will pay off for Walt Disney Co. and Starbucks, if I were a betting man, I would say it absolutely will!!

Mickey Mouse latte please…….

Orange Bird Returns

Today at the Magic Kingdom, the Orange Bird made his return to Adventureland. I get very excited when things that were old are new again.

Is this a sign of things to come at Walt Disney World?

If so, I am excited!! Well done Walt Disney World, well done!

Dear Woody

Dear Woody,

You are my favorite deputy. I really enjoy watching you in all of your Toy Story movies.

Sincerely,

HoosierDisneyGuy

If you have a favorite character that you like, whether it is Disney or Pixar, write them a letter.

That’s right, write a letter to the chosen character, telling them why they are your favorite.

Several weeks later, you could receive a personalized photo from your favorite character.

Send letters to: Walt Disney Co., Attn: Fan Mail Department, 500 S. Buena Vista St., Burbank, CA 91521.

Good luck and if you are successful, I would love to hear from you.

More Test Track News

To offset the refurbishment of Test Track at Future World in Epcot,  Walt Disney World will be adding an entertainment group that will be performing A Cappella music.

The Park will also be extending the hours of Character Spot and the Land Pavilion, which will also include Soarin’ until 10pm.

Test Track Refurbishment

If you haven’t got an opportunity to ride Test Track at Epcot, time is slipping away until this Fall. The popular Epcot attraction has been a feature in Future World since 1999.

It will park itself starting April 15th, that is just 3 days away.

Disney Imagineering and GM are planning a “re-imagined design-centric experience” according to Disney.

Not many detail regarding Test Track have been made available. Within the design center, you will be able to create a custom concept car, that you will then be able to put through the paces of the Test Track.

Test Track will reopen at an unspecified date later this fall. It will be re-branded as Test Track Presented By Chevrolet.

Snow White’s Scary Adventures

To me the classics, such as Bambi, Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White are what make Disney what it is.

I was saddened to hear that Snow White’s Scary Adventures will close forever at Magic Kingdom on May 31st.

This attraction has been in Fantasyland since the opening day of the park in 1971. It will be replaced by Princess Fairytale hall, which is part of the Fantasyland expansion. This will be a meet and greet area for the Disney princesses and guests.

The bright side to all the changes taking place in Fantasyland, will be the addition of Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, a Beauty and the Beast area, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. As of now, no opening dates have been given for these attractions.

I am heading to Disney the week before it closes, it will be sad, knowing that this visit will be the last time.
